Faith Series

Youth and Leaders

This series provides a group of activities to help youth and adults to learn more about the universal faith-based practices and traditions used in living the Catholic faith

American Saint Series

Youth and Leaders

These religious activities honor those men and women who led heroic lives of faith. Their words, their deeds, and their devotion to prayer and to the sacraments, inspire all American Catholics. Most of these men and women lived and worked in North America in what is now the United States. Some others never set foot in America, however they had a huge impact on the Catholic American landscape. All of them sought to follow Jesus.

Modern Saint Series

Youth and Leaders

This is a series that encourages youth and adults to learn about individuals who have shaped the landscape of Catholicism in America. These honored individuals are Saints or are being considered for Sainthood. By learning more about the wonderful examples, it is hoped that youth and adults will be inspired to imitate their heroic virtues and follow in their footsteps.

Marian Series

Youth and Leaders

Each activity in this series examines one of the nineteen Marian Feasts Commemorated in the United States, or the only approved US Apparition site, focusing on how and why the Church has honored Mary for more than 2,000 years

International

Youth and Leaders

The International Catholic Conference of Scouting provides an opportunity for its members to meet together as friends in the Catholic Church. It links the Catholic Church and the Scouting Movement all over the world. It contributes to the complete education of young people through Scouting from the perspective of the Catholic faith. It develops and enhances the spiritual dimension of Scouting in the World Scout Movement

Eligibility

All youth and adults—Scouts or non-Scouts, Catholic or non-Catholic, male or female—are welcome to participate in the Religious Activity Programs promoted by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting.  The activities may be used by families, schools, or any Girl Scout, Boy Scout, Cub Scout, American Heritage Girl, Campfire or Venturer.

Activity Requirements

These activities include the Rosary Series, the Footsteps of American Saints, The Marian Series, the Faith Series, the Modern Saint Series and the International Catholic Awareness Award . All youth and adults must perform the requirements for their grade level to complete these activities.

Completion of the Activity

After completing the requirements, the participants will complete the Patch Order Form (Word PDF) and mail it along with the applicable fee to the NCCS. The answers to the questions should be reviewed by an adult for correctness and do not need to be forwarded when ordering the patch.

Presentation of the Patch

Patches are to be presented to those who earned them and can be presented in a formal Awards Mass, Scout meeting, by family members, etc. The key is to make the presentation special, so the youth understand why they have earned this patch. Also, the patch should be presented in a timely manner so the youth is recognized shortly after completing the activity.
